Every day brings something new to The Hemp Division. From first planting and tending to drying, extracting, packing, and bottling, every moment goes towards creating great results. The Hemp Division now boasts a lively selection of Tea + CBD blends for all occasions, from hot and iced brews to sparkling beverages. In 2018, brothers Michael and Paul Harney embarked on a mission: create an all-new, extraordinary fusion of fine tea and premium CBD. Fueled by their 30+ years of combined tea experience, they decided to do it from the roots up and worked with hemp farmers to plant 7000 hemp plants on the Harney & Sons headquarters in Millerton, NY forming their new sister company: The Hemp Division.

The Hemp Division is committed to crafting the highest quality products, all From the Roots Up .

Hemp expert Arby Barroso partnered with Laura Fuentes — who worked as a licensed compounding pharmacist — to manufacture CBD products. Delving into the uncharted world of CBD was a challenge, with Fuentes sacrificing her stable job to help Barroso in his endeavors. Couriers also refused to ship their products when the pair started their business. Their business boomed after Danny Perdeck and Jimmy Tundidor became the co-founders of Green Roads.

Buddha Teas is a company determined to craft the finest, additive-free teas, providing customers a rewarding drinking experience that touches the very core of their soul. Sourced from 100% organic ingredients, the brand prides itself in offering potential drinkers a satisfying cup of wildcrafted, chemical-free teas. It’s no surprise that its products are sold in stores all over the world. Buddha Teas also ventured into the world of CBD in 2018, creating its line of teas from water-soluble, bioavailable THC-free CBD to let you enjoy the health benefits of essential herbs and/or tea leaves and CBD. One of our favorites is their green tea.

Tea and CBD make a great pair since the caffeine in the tea can balance the slight sedative effects of the cannabidiol, letting you reap the full benefits of its potential stress and anxiety reduction and focus enhancement without making you feel sluggish.

The Portland-based brand also manufactures its CBD collection in a renewable-powered facility that practices business sustainability. This way, you’ll find out how much CBD is infused per individual unit of their product line.

Let’s get right down to business: Tea is life. Coming in countless delicious flavors, tea can be served cold and hot and is sometimes packed with a hint of caffeine and lovely antioxidants. Further, this is consumed from Europe to the Middle East, making it a prized drink among tea enthusiasts. However, tea can taste if you combine it with a few milligrams of cannabidiol (CBD).

THD comes in a whopping 9 different flavors:

These drinks use all-organic ingredients, though the ingredients of each drink vary. But, for the most part these drinks contain some nicely health-promoting ingredients: honey, green tea, chamomile, ginger, and turmeric to name a few.

This drink was a pleasant surprise for us: pretty tasty, a decent value, and chock-full of health-promoting natural ingredients like honey and turmeric.. They hit most of our checks, and we’ll be on the lookout for them in the future.

THD CBD Drink Review.

What makes this drink special? Does it promote productivity or focus? Does it get one “lit”?

How committed is this brand to health and wellness? We look at all the ingredients.

Let’s put it all together: what’s our overall take on this drink?

Many of us consume CBD to relieve ailments. Does this product provide effective relief?

A 12-case of any of their drinks sells for $65, which comes out to just over $5 per drink. That’s not bad (they go up to $10), and the fact that you can get up to 25mg of CBD per bottle depending on your choice gives them a good value score.

Does the drink taste bueno or no bueno?

Health score: 8..4/10.

How much CBD bang are you getting for your buck?

It’s almost a cliche at this point, but CBD really does seem to be everywhere these days. It wasn’t so long ago in San Francisco that you’d be hard pressed to find CBD-infused drinks, now you can walk into any corner store and find them, and we at Remedy Journey learn about new brands each day. One such brand is THD, The Hemp Division, which we stumbled upon at — you guessed it — a gas station in Noe Valley.

I consume CBD for anxiety and found these to be quite effective, with the effectiveness dependent on the amount of CBD in the drink: the lower CBD ones didn’t have much of an effect, but a cool, collected sense of calm came over me when I drank the ones with 20-25mg of CBD.

They’re pretty good, though if I’m honest not quite as good as they sound. My favorite were the Butterfly Lemonade and the Cranberry/Green Tea/Coconut: these were the two most flavorful. I found the others to be a bit bland, a bit more watery than I like, but they were still overall quite refreshing and light. They also get a good score just for the sheer selection.

Final Verdict: 8.4/10.

Now, first off, on the surface this is one of the most impressively diverse flavor profiles of any CBD drink that we’ve seen, and also just the widest selection of any brand. Do they follow through on the promise, though? Are these drinks delicious?

In this section we like to review the special ingredients and effects a drink has, and a few of the drinks in THD’s product line really hit the spot for us: in particular, many of the flavors had green tea or yerba mate, which provided a caffeine kick that made these drinks extra productive and focus-enhancing (without the anxiety or crash that often comes with caffeine).

The only downside is that these drinks do contain 5-10 grams of sugar, which isn’t a huge amount but is a bit more than we’d prefer.

Normally this section is pretty straightforward: we calculate how much CBD you get per $ you spend, but it’s a bit more complicated with THD because each drink has a different amount of CBD. We think it’s pretty cool that they give you a range of choices like that.

THD is an outgrowth of a larger and more prominent brand: Harney and Sons, who have been brewing quality teas since the 1980s. Still family owned and managed, it’s two of the Harley brothers who are at the helm of THD.
